About Sandra Sims
What I do: Since 2003 I have been helping non profit groups raise funds through the resources available on Step by Step Fundraising.
A turning point for me was volunteering for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through Team in Training. I realized how much I enjoyed fundraising because I knew that the funds would make a difference in the lives of those going through these illnesses.
I continued to volunteer for a variety of groups and learn about fundraising best practices. My professional background was in marketing and I enjoyed web design and online marketing. So publishing a website about fundraising for non profit groups was a natural fit.
My Vision: I believe in the “ripple effect.” Small actions can make a big difference in this world. By publishing information online about fundraising and non profit management strategies I’m able to help many organizations. One my greatest joys is hearing back from people about how the site has helped or encouraged them. I’ve talked with people all over the world who are working hard, in the trenches, making a difference in people’s lives.
While my company assists a wide variety of groups, my personal passion is for causes that work to create an equitable and just society. I currently serve as Board President of Christian Women’s Job Corps of Wichita Archer Clay counties (TX), an organization that helps women go from poverty to self sufficiency.
Guiding Vision: Over the past year I’ve realized how important having a strong vision is to success. And that’s why I’ve called this blog Guiding Vision. Whether a non profit organization, company or individual - having a powerful vision will keep you focused and motivated toward greatness.
